Entrepreneurship Skills: Your Ambition for Achievement
Nana Maren launched the “Entrepreneurship Skills: Your Ambition for Achievement” project in the municipality of Kakla as part of a capacity-building initiative under a dedicated civil society grant. Running from 18–24 September 2022, this dynamic seven-day training program was designed to empower vulnerable youth—including returnees and job seekers registered with the labor office—with the skills to create and manage sustainable development projects.
Project Highlights
- Targeted Training: Participants received practical training on identifying viable project ideas, drafting proposals, and managing projects with a focus on financial management, marketing, and sustainability. The training was tailored to meet the needs of Kakla’s youth, equipping them with real-world entrepreneurial skills.
- Innovative Project Development: Throughout the training, the youth developed 16 project proposals. Using a transparent peer-voting process, 7 promising proposals were selected to be presented to key stakeholders, potential funders, and business incubators.
- Networking and Collaboration: The initiative fostered strong connections between trainees, municipal authorities, and industry representatives. These networks provided valuable opportunities for mentorship and future collaboration, creating a supportive ecosystem for young entrepreneurs.
- Immediate Employment Opportunities: The program also created direct employment opportunities, with 5 participants (3 women and 2 men) securing positions with the municipal services office, marking a successful link between training and job creation.
- Sustainable Community Impact: By empowering youth and connecting them with local stakeholders, the project laid the foundation for future development initiatives, including the creation of business incubators and training centers that will further nurture local entrepreneurship.
“Entrepreneurship Skills: Your Ambition for Achievement” transformed the entrepreneurial landscape in Kakla by equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed and by forging lasting partnerships between community members and local authorities. Nana Maren’s initiative stands as a model for sustainable community development—empowering the next generation to drive positive change and contribute to the growth and prosperity of their municipality.
